It seems so logical. Dog is man's best friend, diamonds are a girl's best friend, so combine the two and you have DNA2Diamonds.
DNA2Diamonds is a service that extracts "the unique DNA carbon from a lock of hair (or cremated ashes)" to build a personalized diamond that's said to be identical to a traditional earth-mined stone. Hey, in these days of recycling it makes sense to bring your beloved pet to life within a precious stone, albeit it's a bit creepy like owners who stuff their deceased pets.
To be fair, DNA2Diamonds mostly caters to couples who want to create diamonds out of their partner's living locks.

how precious!
after she made her transition back into spirit, i kept a lock of chou-chou marie's (14-yr-old, 4 pound maltese) snowy locks tied up in pink ribbon.
i wish i could afford a dna diamond to wear. instead, i'm contented with knowing she will live forever in my heart.
Terre~
I agree Jan~If I had the money when my 15 yr. old shep/chow mix passed,I would have loved to have him made into a diamond~I had him cremated and placed in a rosewood box,so he still sleeps beside my bed, nothing can ever replace him,but he will forever remain in my heart.
you can do this with people too, they say they take the ashes and do some process (kinda like this but a bit different) and voila you have grandma on your finger... if having a pet on your finger is not creepy then I guess why not grandma.... (I don't like either one but hey whatever floats your boat)
I too have been down that road. It took all the strength I had inside me to hold onto my dear cat, Alba, as the Vet administered the final dose. I can still remember that day as if it was yesterday. Even as I write this, the tears are building up in my eyes. I did not have the heart to cremate him so I buried him in a special place in my garden. From my kitchen window I can see his special place in my garden and it gives me peace to know he is close by. The pain may subside but the memories are there forever.
I very recently lost my Beloved Kitty Barney (grey and white shorthair) was the light of my life. i had him creamated and a small portion was put into a sterling silver heart pendent so he is with me always. before i would have thought it strange to wear it but i find it helps me knowing he's near.
seriously. i have had my cat since i was 16yrs old. she is 13yrs old now. i know i will cry when she goes. but i will never cremate her an have her ashes beside my bed, nor in a "special place" in the "garden". i wouldnt do either with a real person. my cat has been my companion for many years. when she goes. she will always be in my heart. i dont need a diamond, a garden, or some ashes on my nightstand to remind me.
Yours was one of the very few comments that made any sense at all. Congratulations. I hope you get to keep your pet for many more years to come, but please, buy or adopt a replacement before or shortly after your pet dies. He/she wouldn't want you to be lonely if he/she is capable of thinking such things.
Kitt............That's nice for you.......Wait till your day comes. I don't need ashes on my endstand , I want them there.
Way to be judgemental of someone else's pain. sheesh.
So Kitt - what would you do when your furry friend isn't around - Put him in the garbage??? I see cremation and "the garden" are not an option.
pet lovers are pathological.
we just spent $2000 on dental work for our dog.
clearly, we love her...but not that much.
If I had that kind of money, I would take it and donate it to a local no-kill shelter, and ask that the money be used to help pay for spay or neuter surgery.
This is a little morbid for me, but to each his own. This is way better, however, than the people who have their animals stuffed and keep them sitting around in the living room. That's plain frightening. Years ago, a friend of mine told my mother that since her (my mother's) cat is so beautiful that she should have her stuffed when she dies. My mother said, "I hope you're just friends and not dating this gal. She's a little nutty."
Im scared to leave for college, my best friend is getting old. Shes never left my side ever, and now Im leaving her. Im afraid when I leave she will die all alone. I love my Kissy Poo but when she dies I dont think becoming a diamond would match her personality at all. And I think it would be creepy to have her ashes by my bed. I duno what Im gona do, Im just hoping I dont have to do anything, anytime soon.
disgusting thats all I have to say
How is it disgusting? If it is, then you should be able to defend yourself. I mean, just by eating something you are recycling their carbon and chemicals and making it yourself. This is just using their carbon to make something pretty instead of letting their remains just sit around. I would prefer my remains being made into a diamond than just sitting around in an urn all day. It's also more compact and durable, and thus a much better memorial than an urn which would fall over and break.
My beloved puppy Brody, gone too young and too soon, lies under my apple tree. When I need to have him near me, I stand there and rejoice that he is part of the earth and of new life, the way he should be. We all are not meant to be preserved when our souls have left us--we are meant to return to the earth and give new life.
New SCAMs seem to pop up every day! They probably sell you a bag of rhinestones. Do people really fall for this!?
Yea, I love my pets, but I have to wonder if this is legit. I sometimes wonder if the ashes I keep are even the right ones or if they have 'other' ashes mixed in.
Oh well, it's the memories and thoughts that keep them alive in our hearts and I can't be upset if I am remembering someone else's pet along with my own.
